| Surgery of the Abdomen | |
| Common complaints of patients seeking Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) surgery are excess stretch damaged skin in the mid and lower abdomen, a large fatty deposit in the lower abdomen, and generalized bulging of the abdominal wall that is unresponsive to exercise, such as sit-ups and crunches. These problems are often noted in women following pregnancy or substantial weight loss. Occasionally, the lower abdominal skin and fat will hang down, causing chronic skin rashes, and can become increasingly difficult to conceal beneath clothing. The Abdominoplasty procedure is very effective in removing the excess abdominal skin and fat, as well as tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall. David Pratt often combines liposuction of the flank and hip regions in order to "blend" these areas in, thus avoiding an "operated on" appearance. |
